The reading and writing subjects form arguably the most important element of
the primary school curriculum's learning outcomes. After all, reading and writing
is a basic requirement of everyday living. Students who can
not read and write to an acceptable standard will often find themselves at a distinct
disadvantage in high-school and certainly in the higher academic fields of
University, Tafe and even many general day-to-day pursuits (e.g. reading signs,
following instructions, filling out forms etc.)
At Concept Stickers and Cards, we consider reading and writing to be the most important
of the primary school education fundamentals and, in support of this vital area of primary school
study, we have created a range of very specific reading, writing and alphabet
stickers to help teachers out. These subject sticker designs represent the main areas of the primary school
reading and writing curriculum that teachers are required to teach their students. They are intended to
be colourful and fun rewards which teachers can place on school work in order to
praise and reinforce those elements of the work that are most pleasing. No longer
will teachers have to give a generalised "Good Writing" sticker, when it is praise
for the neatness of the writing or the improved spelling that is the teacher's intended message. Because our stickers are
much more specific, students will know exactly what it is about the writing that they are being
congratulated for and thus know that they have to continue to work hard and improve upon the rest.

The teaching of reading and writing at the primary school level is subdivided
into three major areas of study:
